Baseball 2023

This year, 2023 at Sultan High school, one of the winter sports of the year is Basketball. Rashell Salisbury is a senior at Sultan Highschool who has been playing basketball for the last 7 years of her life. You’d imagine playing a sport because you’re super passionate about it but for Rashell, basketball is all about how the team is like a family to her. She started playing way back mainly because her sisters got her into playing who's also been playing basketball for a while and who are on the Sultan Basketball team, also known as Ranah Rylah and Shyann Rylah. Playing basketball or any sort of sports during your high school year is an experience and something you should cherish before it ends. As Rashell's last year of high school, I asked her how she feels knowing that this will be her last year playing basketball in high school and she talks about how she's excited but honestly, she’s sad about leaving her coaches and the other girls on the basketball team. Being able to do sports or participate in school related things is all about creating memories and all about sisterhood. I asked Rashell if she see’s basketball in her life in her future and she answered no. She doesn’t see basketball in her future Carrer. It was more of something she just wanted to experience during her high school years but not something she wants to continue when she goes off to college.
