On the 19th the SHS wind ensemble band and SHS choir had a concert. The band performed 3 songs; Timepeice, a suspenseful, ticking song with boisterous percussion, New York 1927, a chaotic, swinging blast from the past, and Flight of Valor, a heroic ballad dedicated to the passengers aboard flight 93 on 911. In between band and choir Mason Kometz had a piano solo performance. Choir performed the songs Hold On, Laus Deo, In This Ancient House, Rhythm of Life, and Like a Tree. Performances went well although band was tired from having gone to Battle of the Bands in the morning of the same day. At Battle of the Bands in Arlington they received a Superior 1- which is the second best score an ensemble can get. Just days before choir also received a Superior at their clinic. The turnout for the spring concert was less than others this year but nonetheless decent. Now that April is approaching band will begin to shift towards marching and video game music for the next concert. Thanks to all who attended, the next will be even better.
