Sultan high school basketball boys' team had a long tough and fun journey this year. They faced a lot of bumps all through the season, but none of them gave up their goal. 13th seeded Sultan with record (15-6) takes the court for class 1A state regional for the last year before moving to 2A next year. Turks' boys had a tough start for the season by playing or there games away cause sultan high school gym got flooded, Turks haven't play in their gym since 12 January, they have experienced unprecedent hardships along the way .But they did not care, and they kept going and working hard until they reached playoffs and kicked out the door this year, taking 66-48 victory against Beat bear creek in the third place game at the 1A emerald sound conference and make it to state after 15 years for the third time in history of Turks. Cording to ‘’Herald net newspaper‘’ coach Nate Trichler about the gym situation said: these kids really haven't let it bother them at all ,the way they have preserved and not let the outside stuff bother them ,when they get into game-mode it is been : ‘’Let's go find way to win ‘’. The first game in state was against Montesano at tom water high school by 69 –54, which is considered first win in state moving forward to Yakama to play Freeman high school which has never happened before. moving over Turks finishes their awesome journey in state 28-2-2024 by losing to Freeman by 65-31. Sultan boys did an awesome job finishing in the top 11 in the state for the first time in history. Way to go Turks, keep typing history in sultan high school book.
